Email sent October 15, 2009
Hi everybody, We have been so busy this week I haven't been able to email. We had to bring a missionary in to the mission office so I thought I would write a quick email. We have a a few "funny" experiences with "little critters " in our apartment. Elder Adams decided to fix a glass of cold cereal. He fill the glass with cereal, milk, and some leftover cream. He was stirring the mixture as he noticed a strange looking thing sticking out of the cereal, so he pulled it out to look at it. It was a dead little lizard. I had got cereal afew days before and didn't roll down the plastic and put a clothes pin on it. We decided it had gotten in, ate a bunch of cereal, and couldn't get out. I started to laugh and he said it wouldn't have been as funny if it had been me because I don't stir my cereal. I would have just started to eat it and would have eaten some before I discovered it. My experience is with a banana spider.I had my shoes sitting in the kitchen by the front door. We got ready to go to Bacolod so I went to put my shoes on. When I have them outside I always check them and hit them against the house. This time I just went to put my shoe insert in and a banana spider jump out. They are about 3 inches in size. Small body and very long legs. I thought about the experience later and wondered if the spider was a surprised as I was and possibly yelling also! I was really shook up for a little while. I how check my shoes before I put them on.Heee We have been teaching seminary and it has been an answer to prayers. Things have picked up so now it is getting harder so we will have to stop. The mission president wasn't too happy about us doing it. He wants the branch members to do it. We went with the missionaries yesterday and had a really neat experience. The man we went to is 71yr and has had a couple of lessons. He told the missionaries that he would go to conference last sunday. He didn't have any money to go, so he prayed that he would get some and went to bed. Sunday morning he heard someone yelling for him to come out. He looked out and it was his nephew. He told him that his father had sent some money to him and he was delivering it. He thanked him and then went in and thanked Heavenly Father. He got ready and went to church. He was so amazed at how things worked out for him. We told him that Heavenly Father knows the whole plan and wanted him to go and feel his spirit through the talks at conference. He said sometimes he couldn't understand the talks and then all of a sudden he knew everything they were saying. He is really excited to learn about the gospel. He has almost completed reading the Book of Mormon. Need to go. We love you all and pray for you! Elder and Sister Adams
