Yea! We are hooked to the internet wireless as of right now! Hoping this is going to work! I can't remember what I have written already so if I repeat please forgive. We have had some really neat experiences the past week. Last sat we went out teaching with Elder Nadaro and Elder Afable. The first family we went was the Pacheo. The husband is a member holds the aaronic priesthood and is in-active,the wife not sure if she is a member and a baby girl. The baby has had a hard time having bowel movements and they don't have enough money to take Angel Bless to the hospital to find out the problem.Nilo(husband) has a vision problem of not being able to see things up close very well. He has been trying to fix a TV so he can sell it for money.Steve asked him to try his reading glasses to see if he could see better with them. He tried them and was so excited because he could see better. Steve told him he could keep them. We had a lesson about the blessings of having the priesthood in the home and using it to give blessings. It was in Ilanggo so all that was said is not real clear. WeAsked them if they would like the baby to have a blessing. They said yes, so one of the Elders annionted with the oil and Steve gave Angel a blessing of healing and her bowels would work properly. We said goodbyes and encouraged them to come back to church to enjoy the blessings of the gospel in their lives. We then went to a home of a recent convert. A Family of 2 children, husband and wife, and husband's brother. The Elders have been teaching the brother and found out he has to go back to Manilla for work right away. He is really interested in the church and wants to get baptized, so the will contact the missionaries in Manilla. Very humble homes! One room with a bed, cupboard with a sink , no running water just a 5 gal jug, a small fan, 1 light bulb hangs in the middle of the room. The guys all sat on the floor and the rest on the bed. Almost hit my head on the running fan. We had a great talk about families. They are the most important. The mother told me they are very poor. I told no she wasn't because she has her family and the gospel. That's what counts the most! She is very lucky because her husband really has a strong testimony of the gospel. He loves the church. The walls of the house was made out of cardboard. You could hear the neighbors TV as if it was sitting in the room with us. We shared our testimonies in tagalog and said goodbyes. Alot of men in the Phillipines ane not active if they have joined or they don't join the church.Lack of priesthood in the wards is a problem. We felt good about the evening. Steve and I decided to have a fast for Angel on sunday. We texted the elders and asked them to join(yes we are now texting and getting better at it. No charges only for calls on cell phone. Yes we now have two cell phones. One for local and one to call the USA) The next day we found out that the Pacheo family came to church on sunday and the baby had a bowel movement . They were so excited because he could sing the hymns. Filipinos love to sing the english hymns. Steve and went and visited the family later in the week . We took Nilo a pair of 300 pwer glasses since Steve's were only 150. He was really excited. He tried to give Steve's glasses back and he told him to keep both pair. He has had poor vision since he was small. Sad all the lost years of seeing if he would have known about using a pair of dollar glasses in the US &75 pesos here. One of he groups we are working with is going to be made a branch on May 17. We are so excited. We had a movie afternoon with them on sat. We watched Johnny Lingo and the Restoration DVD. They loved it. We had about 30 people with half of them being children. I made popcorn and bought some gelitin snacks they make here. The children really like them. Alot of these families aren't able to buy those snacks. Well I need to be off for now sure hope this emails isn't too long! We love what we are doing and know the church is true! E & S Adams
